I've got a couple of their CDs and really like them. Hard to find now. Is the band still the same group of guys?

This thread inspired med to dig out World Machine, pull out the Luxman 2 channel pre connected to the Carver TFM 45 and let the SDAs rip. No need for a sub. Wow, these guys are good. This particular album was a fusion of pop, prog and jazz, wonderful lyrics and harmony and a band that cooks on many levels (at least 42). I don't know why they faded. Every bit as good as some of the prog giants of the 70s...maybe just too late.

Two more weeks before the concert. I'm looking forward to it. Anybody else going besides Ron???

World Machine is a great CD, "Lying Still" is an excellent song.

Staring at the Sun is the other CD I own...another good one, but I prefer the production of WM and a couple of the ballads are meh on this one.

Let me know how you like the show. I'll be seeing it the following night :).

It was a good show....I'm only familiar with their major hits so there were some songs I'd never heard before, but we had a great time. The sound was great, a lot of bass....the floor was trembling all the time, Mark King knows his stuff. What really shocked me was there were no more than 200 people, or less...all of them on their forties (I'm 44 ;)), but everyone was dancing and singing along....for only 25 dollars per ticket it was definitely worth!!!!!!:D

Yes, it was a good show. I'd say maybe 400 in a very nice venue here in SF. I'm very familiar with 2 of their CDs, but they only played about 5 songs that I knew. For such a small show, the lights were excellent. I've seen alot of bigger bands that don't come close. Generally, a pretty clean sound. I thought the vocals needed to be brought up a bit and when they got louder, some of the clarity left the building. I was on a balcony that I could move around on...with a bar...so all was good. There weren't alot of youngsters around...they haven't had any air time since the mid 80s, so the only ones that know about them, have some whites hairs (or all white hairs if they are me...but I've got lots of it :D)
