I have a marantz 5.1 processor (DP 870) and I am running two powered subs out of the sub out using a Y adaptor. Should I be using the mono input on both subs or left on one and right on the other? Thanks!!
Rick.

If there is no difference in the signal coming from the receiver it won't make a difference on where you hook it up, I would leave it on the mono.

Exactly. It makes no difference to the amplifier. If you want true stereo subs you'd need an external crossover like I have. (the CX2310) and an external amp for your LR speakers. This is probably unecessary for your needs. So don't give it another thought. :)

Hi Rick,

You can even use both (Left & Right), from the back of each sub, using a Y adaptor there too. You'll gain a little more Gain (Volume level), from your subs.
Absolutely no problem at all doing it that way. Plus, you eliminate any possibility of a small amount of distortion, from the other unused RCA input jack.
That's what I personally do with my two 15" subs, and it works just great.

Cheers,
bob
