Least steps to Pandora?

When I turn on my system, I have to wait for the BluRay Player/streamer to boot and get cozy with the receiver and TV, then I select Pandora, wait while the streamer "acquires internet content", then, once it is ready, have to select close. Another second or 2 for the Pandora screen to load and I can pick shuffle to start listening to music.

I don't like being held captive for this time!

What are ideas on how to reduce this for Pandora?

These delays are not so bad for Hulu and Netflix because I am settling down to watch TV.

With music, I like to turn it on first thing in the morning when I don't have much patience!

I use a Roku and it's reasonably fast. Been using these for close to 5 years.

I'm not a huge fan of using BD players or some TVs for streaming- they tend to be slow.

I use my Roku XS2 as well when I use it, which is not too often.

I will always pay good money for a quality Blu-ray player, and then buy cd's on Amazon with my cash back bonus. (or cat food)

I think the Roku is actually slower, but the big factor is you never turn it off!
The BD player goes through a similar process as the Roku after you unplug it every time.

I think maybe the best solution is to use an old Android tablet I have as the streamer. I think I can leave Pandora up on it and get quick startup.

Also Roku has lost my interest for Pandora because they started giving Roku customers a free 7 day subscription to Pandora (which means a pop keep getting in the way unless you subscribe). At least that is what happens here.

What disc player is this?

Now that you have posted what you use for an AVR in the Denon/Pandora issue thread, I would say that using the AVR is fastest, assuming they're able to fix that problem. It works with the smart phone control app, too.

It is nice because it handles SACD and has a quiet mechanism/reader.
Hey! I've got one of those too. I love mine. The speed doesn't bother me that much and the user interface is quite intuitive. That, and it has analog outputs so I can feed my old analog stereo from it.
