LCD vs Plasma help

Now that my 42" olevia is broke and not worth paying about $500 to fix. I'm in the market for a replacement. I am thinking between the Panasonic TH50PZ77U (plasma) or a Sharp LC46SB54U. The price difference is about $200. I might even consider a Samsung LCD. To afraid to buy another lower level brand. Costco had a nice Vizio 50" plasma this past week but was not willing to take the chance. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I dont think you will be dissapointed in the panny and it would give, imo, a marked improvement in the picture quality compared to the other set. That model panny may not be avialable to much longer.

Carefully consider the advantages and disadvantages of plasma and LCD (which are listed at the above link). No matter what you buy, it will not be the best in every way.

I personally would not buy a plasma, but some other people would not buy an LCD. You must decide which virtues and vices matter to you, and select accordingly.
