LCD Mounting Arm manufacturers (mounting plate spec?)

I have a Panasonic TC-26LX50 LCD TV and want to mount it in a cabinet. (I don't know why, but my wife doesn't think this TV goes with our decor so it is hidden in a cabinet with doors.) The cabinet has a solid floor on which the TV sits now, as well as a solid top -- either of these horizontal surfaces would be suitable for mounting. I want to be able to pull the TV forward and out of the cabinet when viewing, and back in otherwise.

I have found a number of kits (some pretty expensive!) that are intended for wall mounting, and some reference a VESA mount, for example "This mounting kit will work with LCD displays that have four mounting screw holes on the back of the unit in a square pattern and the holes are either 75mm or 100mm apart."

But my TV does not seem to have such mounts on the back -- instead it has threaded holes on the back in a rectangular pattern about 13-1/4" x 4-3/4" (~33.5cm x 12cm). It also has a pedestal mounted to the bottom, which could be removed.

Can anyone give me suggestions about where I might find suitable hardware for the task? I am quite comfortable with building my own mount, unless there's some inexpensive plate I could buy that would save me the effort.

Thanks in advance!

VESA is an organization which tries to promote imaging standards such as video protocols, display mounts etc.

Some LCD displays support VESA mounting holes configurations for flexible/custom installations.

I went online at the following link you provided and read the manual for you Panny but it appears the holes are aligned for a proprietary mounting system from panasonic, using the wall-mounting bracket TY-WK32LX20W.

I would try looking at possibly a traditional swing-arm mount for an small CRT Television as a possible solution. Try looking at Home Depot or someplace similar.

Good Luck.

Thanks -- I guess I didn't dig hard enough to find the bracket spec, but I googled the prt number and found the manual online -- total overkill. Grumble.

So I'll hack some regular old CRT stand as you suggest. And save a bundle, I'm sure!
