I have been trying to find information about what LCD flat panel TVs have the capability to display in split screen mode, but have not had much luck. If anyone can provide a link to a site that has this information, that would be great. Also, where is the best place to find reviews and rcommendations on LCD flat panel TVs? I am looking at a 45", 46", or 47" tv.

I don't think you are going to find any site that lists all flat panel LCDs with split screen capability. The only way to discover which TVs have the capability is to make a list of each brand and model that interests you and then compare their features.

http://www.crutchfield.com has a pretty good comparison tool that shows the main features of various TVs that they carry. I know that the Toshiba 42" and 47" LCDs have the capability because I was looking at them recently. I would highly suggest going to the manufacturers website and downloading the manual if it is available so you can read about the true capability it offers as sometimes there are restrictions that may not meet your needs; eg some with split screen capability have only 1 tuner so cannot display two HD images simultaneously.

Note that this feature is sometimes called PIP (Picture in Picture) or POP (Picture On Picture).

Thanks for the info. I will check out your suggestions. I think that LG may a split screen feature on one of their tvs.

Look at the Samsung LN-S series.

I have a LN-S4051D (40") and it will do a split screen Picture in picture.

If your looking for split screen with one input used as a PC monitor, I'm not sure if it will work. But from other inputs (HDMI, S-Video, Composite, Component, OTA tuner) it has the capability.
