This may help a bit.
Expect 30 to 50,000 hours bulb life according to Sharp
( Please note that the picture can fade over time on a LCD TV.
I would expect prime performance to last closer to 20 to 30,000 hours maximum ( 13 years at 6 hours per day).
Expect substantially less on a no name brand.
Perhaps you are confusing panel life with bulb life?
The SONY KF-50WE610 is an LCD rear projection TV, meaning that it uses a bright incandescent bulb in the back to project light through a smallish LCD panel.
This bulb is expected to last 2-3 years. Replacement lamp assemblies are around $200. Dunno if you can easily replace it yourself on these displays.
I'd certainly keep one on hand, especially with the age of your TV. You don't want it to be out of commission for a week while you wait for the bulb to come in.
You need the Sony XL-2100 bulb assembly.
