I'm setting up a secondary stereo system with an old NAD 3240PE Integrated amp and need a cd player to go along with it. I have the opportunity to buy an older NAD 5240 CD Player (that matches the cosmetics of the amp). Of course, these older players seem to demand a premium in price. The other option is to buy a cheap dvd player and just spin my cd's there.
My question is this: what kind of sound quality can I expect from the older NAD cd player versus a new dvd player from today?
