... whoever can find me the user's manual for the Optoma Dx617 Projector or similar model, or the lamp removal instructions. If you think clicking "user manual" for the projector on Optoma's site will work, you're out of luck, I've been all over google and yahoo searching for it. I'm hoping someone just knows where to find this stuff, or can help out. I'd really like the instructions so I don't bust the bulb trying to remove it and have fragments of bulb left in there. So far I see 2 screws, I removed them, and the lamp has a little handle you pull up, and I can wiggle it, but it still feels attached somehow. It shows no sign of pulling up.

Help?:(

I click it but it doesn't show up? Just a blank white screen. Other PDF's work just fine offline and online, but trying to open the pdf of this manual anywhere doesn't work for some reason. Doesn't make any sense.
Weird. Try it again. I was able to get the manual to launch.

This isn't fair. I've tried it on 3 of our computers, all have up to date adobe reader. This doesn't seem right. If I can't get it, can someone just screen cap the part on bulb removal. I'll keep trying other things till then.

Edit: I'm reinstalling Adobe reader to see if that helps.

Nope, still doesn't work. Grrr...
Give it a second to load. I got the same thing but it takes the PDF sometime to load from the site. Looking at the PDF on page 60, you remove the cover plate, and there are only 2 screws holding the lamp in place. From there you should pull straight up toward you or down if ceiling mounted. Replace and reinstall. It's very simple. If you can't access the PDF, see my pic. I like Greygoose on the rocks and the beer extremely cold. :)

Thanks a bunch mate, it looks like I was on the right track, but when I pulled on that handle, it didn't feel like I had fully dissasembled it to take it out, but I guess I just got to pull harder; I just felt like I was going to break something if I yanked on it.

We got tons of beer, no Greygoose though, if you're in the area, come get it.;):D
