KSW10 - maybe on, maybe not

I have a KSW10 connected to my Yamaha RX-V663. Sometimes when I turn the system on I only see a red light on the KSW10 which I think indicates it's on, but not producing bass. I then turn the system off and back on to get the green light on the KSW10 and then I hear the bass. What would cause this condition? All connections are tight. The KSW didn't really have any info with it to explain how it works and my knowledge level is you turn it on and it's supposed to work. If it makes any difference, I control all my components with a Harmony 890.

Sounds like your not getting a potent enough signal from your AVR to ur subwoofer. Turn the subwoofer trim settings up in your AVR.

It was set to OFF, I switched it to Auto ON. Level is at 6 (of 11) and it's set to 120Hz. What will Auto On do for the sub in terms of bass that Off won't do? Does Off require a certain level of signal to produce the bass? The other reply said to check the trim settings on the AVR. I'm looking up the sub in my AVR manual. It talks about crossover so I need to check into what that is.

if it works at "ON" then its a circuitry issue. "Auto On" does have some minimum signal levels which is how it works. I'm sure someone smarter than me can explain it in more detail.

My MA sub needs a min signal for it to come on...if the MCV is really low, it wont come on at all until I turn it up a few notches. How does it work when you set it to ON only?
