Have a pair of these on the way from ZZSounds.com. Was going to get the Audioengine A5 but felt these would give me better bass response since I won't be using a sub. Also looked at the 8" model KRK's(as well as the Mackie 8") but determined from a couple youtube videos that they were way too big for my makeshift desk here.

Excited to give these a try finally. Almost got the 6" active Behringer's just because I'm familiar with them and know they sound good but I couldn't resist trying something new.

I'll update when they arrive.

Edit: ZZsounds makes ordering from overseas very easy and if you order from an APO address, shipping is free so props to them for their support!

Lousy iphone pic of the setup.

LG 42" LCD
Alienware 14x laptop
Behringer Ucontrol UCA202
Rokit's on mopads

I really like these speakers so far. What I perceive as very accurate, clear and precise. I'm using the "electronic" EQ setting in Itunes which give it's a bit of a bass boost as well as in the upper mid-range.

Living it up here in the mountains of Afghanistan.;)

Congrats! Nice ones Matt, I got JBL's from Zzounds as well - their price match got me really good deal

Your setup looks pretty slick for such remote location

Thanks for your service!

After some time with the Rokits I've noticed they are on the warm side of neutral, especially from what I remember of my Behringers. They are missing the top end sparkle some might like but I think you can listen to these all day without ear fatigue. I still haven't messed with the treble adjustments on the amp yet. I'll experiment with them here in the following weeks.

Bass is really where they shine, they can really energize my small prison cell of a room during movies, dubstep, etc. I probably could have gotten the smaller 5" model and been happy.

When I get home I'll probably get the matching 10" sub just so I can connect everything by XLR cables and to have a matching set.
