Klipshorn / Scott 222-D / Harman Kardon 635 and home theater

I'll preface this by saying I'm not an audiophile, but just somebody that really loves to listen to music. I have a pair of Klipshorn speakers currently running from a reconditioned Scott 222-D integrated tube amp that I use solely for listening to vinyl. Recently I was given a Harman Kardon AV 635 receiver for my home theater. I'm trying to get some opinions/advice if it makes sense to try and use the pre-outs on the reciever and run the corner horns as part of my home theater (currently have a projector that I use with a basic Onkyo home theater set up). I'd love to get the corner horns involved to watch music DVDs, however I'm really not sure how to set up the system - i.e. is that what the pre-outs are for on the receiver, is it even worth trying to integrate the corner horns into my home theater, etc..

Any input/advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Put The HK and Klipsches Together

If you are thinking about integrating the old Scott amp and the HK receiver together somehow, I cannot picture that working out unfortunately. The pre-outs on the HK are basically for sending the receiver audio to an external power amplifier. Some audiophiles and others who like to have things loud would probably go this route.
The Harman Kardon AV 635 receiver is quite a nice receiver in and of itself. I've also been impressed with any Klipschorns that I've heard. If you are thinking about going surround sound, I'd move the Klipschorns over to the HK receiver and add in a center channel and surrounds and see how it works out. I seriously doubt that you'll need a subwoofer, because the Klipschorns can go plenty low in the bass as is. Run the left and right front channels full range to take advantage of the Klipschorns capabilities. Be ready to experiment.
