Klipsh Sub keep rumbling after turned off

Hey fellow Audioholics .. Lemme start by saying great site here, and I like my music loud!
So here is my issue as I am new in experimenting in electronics.
I have an older Yamaha receiver (RX-V650, which I do plan to upgrade) that I have become accustomed to and love the sound with Klipsch KSW 12 sub.
One night while watching Celebration Day a little too loud the problem started.

The sub will continue to rumble for around 3-5 seconds after being turned off. I have played with Amp settings and Sub gain to no avail.
Physically the sub looks fine and when I press and release on it I feel no resistance or any thing ... very smooth.

Which leads me to believe maybe I have some cap issues on the main board ... but that is where my knowledge stops.

Any advice on how/what to check the main board or am I looking in the wrong place.
Thanks all.

There isn't likely a way for you to fix the problem unless you have a repair schematic and are a qualified electrical technician. Sorry to tell you this, but you will have to either live with the problem or send the amp in for repairs. That sub is probably not worth repairing, assuming you could find someone to fix it, since, for the cost of repair, you could probably buy something significantly better.

Thank you for getting back to me so quick shadyJ. I was hoping to try out the repair myself with a little guidance. I have repaired my own pinball machine finding some bad welds and a couple bad caps. But you are right, maybe better to buy a new one ... however budget is a concern as I am also shopping for an amp around the $500 range. Looking at the forums now on amplifier suggestions.

Welcome to AH.

Just a friendly reminder about that loud music. You will experience hearing degradation over time. ;)

Have you called Klipsch for input on your problem?

What, Indeed .... I am more careful as I age. I already have slight Tinnitus but I cant help myself. I didn't call Klipsch as it is a pretty old model but it wont hurt to try sending them an email. Thank you for responding to my post.

You could always look for a replacement on the used market. I see Klipsch subs on Craigslist all the time for a couple hundred bucks.

Indeed however my problem is I am in Canada and a bit of a remote area .. shipping is crazy. I saw a nice amp however shipping was around $80. I a little weary also as it is hard to see how it was treated. Thank you for reading my post and replying to me.
