Klipsch with Yamaha RX-V2500

I am trying to finish up my home theater in the next couple of months. I have a couple of questions...

I am looking to buy new a receiver and from the specs I have researched have liked the Yamaha RX-V2500. I like the auto setup and all of the listening modes.

1 pair of SS-1's for surround
SC-1
SB-3 bookshelf that are going to be on zone 2 for the porch.
Klipsch 12 sub

I am looking for new speakers for the front and don't really know what to go with. I also need another pair of surrounds for 7.1.

Will Klipsch sound good with the receiver? I have heard mixed reviews with klipsch with a Yamaha receiver. Thanks for your help.

As you stated, there are mixed opinions on this matter.
My opinion is Klipsch and Yamaha don't mix.
While the Klipsch are good speakers and the 2500 is a great reciever, Combining the two would be taking two rights and making a wrong.
I've heard Klipsch with Onkyo and I thought the sound was better than Klipsch through my Yamaha 1500 and I don't think you'll hear a difference in the 2500.

I listened to paradigm and klipsch with a yamaha 1400 for a long period of time, and the paradigms sounded amazing, then when i went to the klipsch my ears started ringing after only about 5 minutes. Yes the Klipsch are easier to drive than the paradigm, so they might have been louder, but the sound was just really piercing to my ears, with that being said, you may like the combination. I would look along the lines of a pioneer elite 54 to go with klipsch. Also check out marantz and Harman Kardon.

Speakers

Thank you so far for the help. What about front speakers and surrounds for the setup? I am hoping to not spend a bundle in upgrading all of my speakers and wondering if my SS1's and SC1 were going to be sufficient.

Does anyone know how the Onkyo 801\901 sounds with Klipsch?

Hi everyone,

I Run a pair of Klipsch Cornwall 82, With the Refrence 7 model souuronds on a Yamaha RX-V3200 I find the sound to be good and solid, even with the difference in age.

But thats just my thoughts.

You really need to listen to the Amp on the Speakers you wish to use, to get your own perspective on the sound

Matt :)

I'd go listen to the 2500 with some Klipsch speakers. To me the "brightness" of Klipsch speakers is overstated just the same as it applies to Yamaha receivers. Everyone is different so go listen to that combo and make your own decision. Or buy a Denon 2805/3805. :D

Hello
I currently have the flagship Rf-7 system connected to the RXV 2500 in my showroom.I have had this speaker system connected to Aragon Pre/Pro and
Denon AVR 3805. The 2500 sounds better than the 3805 and holds up pretty well against the Aragon The 2500 is one of the quietest receivers I have heard and its pure direct mode is very nice

Speakers

Thanks Everyone for your help. I have decided to buy axiom speakers give them a try and see how it sounds. I am going to get the 60's, QS8's, and v150.

Is it going to be okay to set my QS8's about 7 feet high? I hear it should be ear level and it shouldn't be ear level. I believe the Audioholics review of the speakers they had them at 7 feet.
