Klipsch or Axiom...

I owned the RF-83 Klipsch for 5 months and had to sell them, they were fine for HT but for music they were very fatigueing, way too hard on the ears at the high end. I replaced them with Axiom M80v2 for half the money and they sound ten times better, they are simply a steal. I would suggest the M60's as the 80's are quite fussy about what powers them (4 ohms) and will promptly shut down most receivers, I beleive HK and Dennon work well though. I use the Emo "Big Dogs" and they sound excellent. Besides, with Axioms 30 day in home trial, one cannot go wrong.

Good luck and enjoy!
I agree with this assessment. I have listened to Klipsch (although I've never owned any), and currently I am demo-ing a pair of Axiom M60V2's, vp150, and QS8 surrounds. I don't have it fully callibrated yet, and my room is a little lively with the vaulted ceilings, but I will say that the Axiom's sound better then any Klipsch speakers i have heard. I especially like the detail in the high end. I'm currently hearing sounds that i've had to actually look to see what it was b/c it sounded so clear. I understand that sound is very subjective, but baised on my experience, I would lean towards the Axiom's, especially for movies. Those QS8 surrounds really add to the experience! :D

I've got the Axiom setup with a vp100 and SVS PB12-NSD sub instead. This system rocks and you can't go wrong sound wise with these speakers. I was a little dissapointed in their appearance (basic black) but their sound has never left me wanting more. I agree that the EP350 is not the best, so either the EP500 or a SVS or HSU sub would work great

As far as looks, I am very picky and prefer my Def Tech Mythos Twos in looks. No comparision in sound though. Actually, i'm looking to replace my bedroom 2.1 mythos system with a 5.1 Axiom system of 5 white M2s or M3s wall mounted near the ceiling. Axiom makes great speakers.
