Klipsch KSW10 + low sound level

I recently installed a Samsung BD-P3600 Blue Ray player and have used the players single channel audio outputs to connect to the single channel inputs on and older Denon receiver that lacks HDMI inputs. I have read that this is the highest quality audio connection option with a receiver that can't process HD audio formats (which the Samsung player can). Problem is the sound level at the Sub Woofer is very low no matter how I tweek the settings at the Sub W. Anyone out there have any suggestions on how to overcome this problem shy of buying a new receiver?

I had a similar problem on my KSW-10. Using a y-splitter, i ran the input into both L and R sub inputs and that seemed to fix it.

Not sure why, as that shouldn't be necessary....
