Folks, best buy has the attached home theater system on sale for $999. It has a Yamaha receiver and DVD player and Klispsch quintet III speakers and Klipsch 10 inch sub. Please see attached for detailed specs. Is this better tahn buying a DECO Home theater system for $499 and adding a receiver and DVD player seperately which probably will cost $200-300 more?

Appreciate any suggestions.

I still say Deco..........

As far as the subs go the little Velodyne will beat that 10" Klipsch even though the Klipsch is a 10" sub vs. the 8" in the velo. Klipsch makes some pretty good subs but you would need to step up their food chain from the sub in that system to get one of them. I am not saying that the sub in the set @ BB is bad but the Velodyne is better. As far as the sattelites go the Velodynes are more robust, they have self protective circitry in them for protection from being over-driven. And please don't forget the system started out @ $1499.00 if memory serves.

Most evryone here will direct you to Oppo Digital for an upscaling DVD player ($229 for their 1080P model and $149 for their 1080i) as they have received phenominal reviews from professionals (for video and audio quality) as well as consumers. The receiver is up for grabs. Look @ Yamaha, Pioneer, Denon, Onkyo, and Harmon Kardon.

SUffice it to say I say still go DECO.
