I have a pair of 1979 Klipsch Cornwall 15" speakers. The glue on the grill cloth(back side) is coming loose from the panel. What type of glue should I use? These were my late Dad's speakers and they are mint and don't want to screw this up.
Thanks
Louis

If the cloth is not holding tension, my first thought is 3M Super 77 spray adhesive:
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?jspStoreDir=hdus&catalogId=10053&productId=100067550&navFlow=3&keyword=Super+77+spray+adhesive&langId=-1&searchRedirect=Super+77+spray+adhesive&storeId=10051&endecaDataBean=com.homedepot.sa.el.wc.integration.endeca.EndecaDataBean@6d563bea&ddkey=Search

However, I don't know that it won't cause problems with certain fabrics. To play it safe, call these guys. The last time I contacted them (about 4 years ago) they had great service and were very helpful!

Thanks I will call them. It looks like the factory used a spray glue around the edges.

Klipsch and various aftermarket folks sell grill cloth and such, in case you botch the effort and need to try again. Given the age of those, and assuming you plan on keeping them and listening, you may also want to consider re-capping the crossovers. Those degrade over the decades, and a new set will restore your speakers to original condition. I did so on some old Heritage; it was inexpensive, and worth it.

Sorry about your father. Think good thoughts while rawking out to his Cornwalls.

Thanks.. .....hey he(Father) was 90. Hope I have another 30. :) I just installed a new pair of Bob Crites crossover boards and checked everything with a ohmn meter. I just looked and Bob Crites sells new cloth.... Duh. thanks....I will call him Monday and ask what glue to use. I was 29 in 1979 and went with Dad to a Klipsch Dealer in Dallas and picked them up new unfinished with risers. $954.00. I will never sell them.. I have old set of Heresy in the bedroom and now added the Reference Series Surround speakers for the center and rears with the Corns as fronts...........small 20X20 carpeted den (Man cave). One wall is soild TV and speakers :D.
