Klipsch 82 II vs Monitor Audio RX8

Ok, I have researched and researched. I have listened to both speakers, but the demos were really not fair. The Monitor Audio dealer put on a very professional and nice demo. The system was run from a Marantz 7005, with an amplifier, and the music that was played was very vocal, so the sound was very distinct. We also watched some Avatar and the sound was amazing. Also the speaker placement was perfect. As for the Klipsch dealer, he brought me into a mediocore room, where the speakers were not placed correctly. the Klipsch RF-82 II's were only run through the Marantz 7005 with no additional amplifiers. We watched some Avatar but I was not very impressed and listened to some of the cd's that the dealer had, which were not as vocal as the Monitor Audio's dealer had. I played my Ipod on both of the systems, but due to the compressed music files both of the systems sounded like crap. Right now I am leaning towards the Monitor Audio speakers, but I want to make sure I am not ruling out the Klipsch's because of the idiot reseller.

So my question to everyone is what your opinions are of the above mentioned speakers. Any feedback would be appreciated and Thank You !!!

You need to see if the dealers will let you demo them in your own place, since I imagine your room will not match either of the dealers' places.

2 very different sounding speakers, gonna want to trust your ear. I would pick the Monitor myself, but I feel most of Klipsh's line up comes off way too bright for my taste. your opinion might be different.

I will say do NOT buy the Klipsch if you dont have a way to return them in, say 20-30 days. In my experience they can be an acquired tasste that has an odd effect of sounding worse to your ear as time passes.

He already liked the MA, so he will not like the Klipsch.

that was my first reaction, but I also figured he asked for the compar for a reason, maybe he has a history with Klipsch in the past? granted I could be fishing. If I had a gun to my head and had to guess wether he liked the klipsch or not and get shot if I was wrong, I'd go with the same opinion you have
