Hello, thanks for having this forum.

I have this powered subwoofer that works fine as a subwoofer, but when I hook side speakers to it, it has no output on the side speakers. I don't think I have it connected wrong. I'm using low level inputs. I'll have to get the exact model number later. I can do printed circuit repairs if I have a print.

Thanks again. Regards, Jim

You need to use high level inputs to get output from speaker outs. Low level inputs only work with sub woofer.

Hmmm... that's too bad because I want to use these speakers on my wife's TV, but I don't see a high level output. Is there a workaround? I suppose I could get a cheap amp at a pawn shop or eBay and connect the amp to the low level outputs of the TV and then connect the output of the amp to the high level input of the KLH. Do you think that would work?

What TV model you have? As I believe the TV has high level outputs instead of low level, if that is the case using an amp would solve your issue. Getting cheap used receiver would be good choice how ever, if you have room for it as you could use optical audio out from TV, if it has one.

Hi tyhaarpa, thanks for the help. Sony Bravia KDL-26ML130 It says that it has 20 watts out but I can't find the jacks. I took a photo of the rear panel but it didn't turn out too well so I'll try later.

Sorry I can't post links yet.

Page 15, #7 #8. So yes, it has audio out via RCA and digital coax. So either an amp / receiver will work in your case. With receiver how ever you could plug your speakers directly to receiver and your sub to receiver LFE and use crossover form receiver. From Craigslist you should be able to find used receiver for quite cheap.

Thanks tyhaarpa, I'm looking for a suitable receiver, within budget, and I'll be posting the results when I find one. It doesn't have to be HiFi and powerful because that KLH is nothing to write home about. For my own system, I found a Sony STR DE335 at Goodwill for $14.95 about a year ago, so I'll keep looking for a bargain like that for my wife's TV.
