KENWOOD vr-6070 troubleshooting

I have recently purchased a Kenwood receiver model VR-6070 for a good $200 w/shipping and a pair of Sapphire Audio ST2 speakers for around $316 with shipping.

My question is concerning the system setup. Basically no sound comes through the speakers unless I use my VCR into Video2 input, and because the VCR is mono it only plays out of the left speaker at a very low volume. With all other digital and analog inputs, absolutely no sound is coming out. I have reconnected the speaker wire a dozen times with and without connector pins. I know the speakers work cause I tryed them on my older pioneer receiver but I would really like to use the Kenwood because it puts out twice as much power and has better options. How do I know if the receiver is not sending power to the speakers at all and it is just junked? The ST2s are bi-amped on the same receiver through speaker inputs A and B, could this be the problem? I am very new at this and would appreciate any input.

Does the tuner built into the recvr play??? Try connecting just speaker out A on the kenwood to the speakers, make sure you have the jumper in place between the speaker terminals for single wiring when you do this. Tell us the results.

Sapphire ST2s

Well actually i can't find a jumper between the terminals so I bi-wired them instead of bi-amping and still nothing, I'm going to go see if it will cost a lot to get it repaired.

Thank you
