Kenwood Sovereign 5700 - Issue

Hi,

We have the Kenwood Sovereign 5700. I have noticed that when we play the radio the unit will go quiet after a while. I am meaning no sound, zip, zilch, nothing. I turn the unit off and then back on and the sound is back.

That issue was only with the radio. Which was not on very long. Not compared to when watching movies or the Sat. Well, recently the same thing started to happen while watching TV/Sat. Watching a show and the sound would go off. We have to change the channel to get the sound back.

So far I am thinking it is the Kenwood, because of the past sound disappearing problems with the radio, and not the sat receiver. I am wondering if this issue is familiar with anyone, how they dealt with etc.

Thanks

Have never had the problem, but sounds like a receiver issue. Contact Kenwood. May be a known issue with them..........
Good luck!

Good news is at least the sound is recorded when we tape to the VCR.

After talking with Kenwood US tech support on the phone, the problem may be solved. Tomorrow will tell.

He told me to turn THX off. Apparently, THX and the sound field we selected can cause this issue.
