Does anyone know if these speakers are any good? I was looking at the 5.1 system, but noticed they were somewhat bright.

Which ones? They make awesome speakers. But like Paradigm, have many lines to choose from. Their reference series are some of the best speakers made. The "Q" series are very highly reviewed also. The KHT series are similar to Bose' offerings, and are quite power hungry and lack midrange.

I've heard KEF's Q line...they sounded pretty good considering they were placed poorly in the house, etc. So, I didn't get a really good idea, but, enough for me to say you should definetly check them out!

Only thing funny about them is the badging on them is QKEF...and if you try and pronounce it...well.... some of you might catch on. Nothing to stop you from buying them though. ;)

The ones I heard was the Kef KHT 2005.2 satellites which sound pretty darn good. Im leaning toward the Axiom M22 or M50 or their Grandmaster 5.1 setup. I might even go the next Axiom package up.

I have a complete Kef speaker setup - Q7 for fronts, Q9c for the centre and Q4 for surrounds and KHT 2005 for rears. Also use a Kef Model 30B 12" 100 watt powered sub.
My first system (25 years ago) consisted of Kef Chorals and Kef 104. Used these until last year when I upgraded and expanded the system and kept with Kef.
I drive the system with a Yamaha RX-V2500 using Pioneer 667 DVD for DVD, SACD and DVD Audio, a Rega P3 TT and Nad c542 for CDs. All sounds excellent. :) I Listen to the Nad c542 driving the Yamaha on pure direct mode driving the Q7s quite a bit. :) :)

The KHT series gets excellent reviews and are way better than Bose in terms of build quality and performance.

The Q series Kefs use UniQ driver technology which positions the tweeter within in the centre of the midrange driver – gives a wider “sweet spot”. See www.kef.com for more info.

I've got Q11's up front Q7's in back and Q5's on the side running off Yammy 2400, it sounds phenominal, they have amazing highs and really clear and smooth lows. You can't beat the price for such performance, it really is unmatched IMHO!

Oh yeah I forgot Q6c centre!

Cannot get Q11s in New Zealand. Your system sounds awesome. One issue I find is that the Yamaha Ypao gives reverse wiring readings with the Q7s and the Q4s using auto setup. Does this happen with your 2400?

Yes, unfotunately it does, I just ignore it. I don't really use the YPAO anyway, I really prefer to EQ and all that jazz myself it feels more personal that way, not to mention sound A LOT better IMHO!
