I've got a very adequate subwoofer in a med/large room. Is the 550 worth double the price ($500 vs $1000)?

I've got a nice set of stands already. So for my med/large room and hefty subwoofer, you would opt for the 350's over the 550's?

(I've heard the 350's and liked them, have not heard the 550's, but have read that the bass is not excellent)
