“B” speakers are typically in another room, so there’s no reason it would hurt, as long as your amplifier can handle a 4-ohm load.

However, if you're setting up both in the same room and plan to run them both at the same time, that typically does not get good results, no matter what the secondary speakers are.

I suppose that depends if you like the speakers or not.

You might be very surprised with the LS50's. I got a feeling the Bose 901's may not get a lot of use after you start hearing those.

LOL...they did...5 years ago.

The "LS" relates to the speaker being a "tribute" to the BBC LS3/5A speaker that truly set a standard for performance in a near-field monitor. Production of it was licensed by the BBC to several companies in the UK, and KEF was one of the total 11 companies. It was KEF's B110 woofer and T27 tweeter which were used by most if not all.

As the 50th anniversary approached KEF decided to create a "new standard" using a developed version of the their Uni-Q driver and named it the LS50 to combine both the reference to the LS3/5A and their own 50th anniversary. They didn't quite get it into full production for the 50th anniversary though the first production year ones do carry "50th Anniversary Edition" on the trim ring around the Uni-Q driver.
