Kef Kit 510 home theater system

’m not sure if anyone can help me, I have been given a secondhand 510 system and can’t seem to get it set up right. All cables are connected correctly I think, however DVD player only comes on briefly (blue lights) but then goes off after a short while. Nothing else happens, no message on display, drawer won’t open either by the unit or the remote (remote lights up when pressed). Speakers connected to the Woofer, woofer connected to the DVD player and plunged in to power. HDMI to TV. I’m an amateur at this kind of thing..am I missing something or is there something simple I can do to rectify the problem. Thanks

Sounds like an internal problem within the primary electronics center unit.. That system was targeted to sell mostly in western Europe, KEF typically builds quality products but most of info on the internet is in German. I would recommend U contact KEF and ask is there a way to RESET the CPU within the main electronics center?? Frequently these type of products and AVRs need to be RESET to remove any corrupted software..

Just my $0.02... ;)

Excuse my ignorance but do you mean the problem is likely to be the primary electronics center in the DVD player not the sub woofer ?

My recommendation was targeting the center primary electronics not the subwoofer...
Within the primary electronic center is system controller processor chip.. Frequently its memory gets corrupted and needs to be dumped and rebooted..
Technical term is PROCESSOR RESET..
Virtually ALL AVRs & audio systems have this capability..

Just my $0.02... ;)
