I am planning on purchasing 2005.2 system with upgraded center speaker.

Two questions

1) Is it a worthwhile upgrade for center speaker to iQ2C/Q6C? I demo'ed the 2005.2's and thought the center lacked punch and clarity. Haven't had a chance to demo the upgraded center speakers yet.

2) What is the difference between iQ2C and Q6C? They look the same, price the same, specs are the same....

1.) Maybe.

2.) The plain ol' "Q" series is the older series. This years models are "iQ". The old Q2c had a 6.5" UniQ driver while the Q6c had a 5.25" UniQ driver. The new iQ2c has a 5.25" UniQ driver.

Now, there ARE some differences bewtween the 5.25" driver of the old Q6c and the 5.25" driver of the new iQ2c. Whether these differences translate into a considerably different sound or not is probably (at least) debatable. You should be able to get a better deal on the discontinued Q6c, though, and for your purpose (replacing the 2005.2 center) it should work fine.
