KEF 105.4

I pulled out of storage a pair of 105.4 and they are working properly but lacking. I have heard of some mods that involve disabling a protection circuit or something similar. Can anyone point me in the direction of doing this or other info

For Kef 105.4 owners only

This old tech is slowly going to release need to know information and tips of the trade. The Kef 105.4 can kick the 105.2 in the ass as it was originally intended to. The 105.4 was artificially limited to a 55 hz cutoff. Anyone who owns a set of these can pull the woofers and see a piece of foam...

There's probably a few more threads on AK about it, but it's also worth joining to ask fresh questions. It's a huge community and like here, loaded with some very helpful folks...especially with the classic stuff like the 105.4's.

They may be "working" but could still be in need of driver surrounds, tweeter ferro fluid, and capacitor replacement due to their age. They date from 1980-1984, after all.
