Anyone own a set of Kef 105/3s?

I have an opportunity to buy a mint pair of 105/3s and I currently have the 104/2s, which I love. I can't listen to the 105/3s before I buy them so I'm just looking for some feedback from owners.

Thanks

Why not keep both, or buy both and A/B comparison them? Off the bat, they'd most likely sound very similar. The only difference should be bass extension and volume. I have a pair of 104/2 that need a little work. They should sound pretty good when up and running.

105/3s

I auditioned all kef ref's and the 107/2' & 104/2's sounded like the same speaker(in that showroom). the 105/3's immediatly stood out from the rest, mainly the higher spl's. 93.5 vs 90 db seems twice as loud. the mid and high freq of the 105/3s cinched it for me. however these are the least forgiving of all kef's so I ended up spending a small fortune system matching. these are hi-end and need serious electronics I currently run them with,
krell kav300il int top end w/kimber 4tc,
B&K 4420r bottom to kube200 gen wires,
rega jupiter cd,
revox tuner,
apeture cables.
mid's are the best i've heard, treble ... starting to show it's age compared to what's out there now. When it came time to refoam woofers in 2004 i brought half a dozen speakers home in the $3-5000.00 range, these 105/3s were still king.

I don't own a pair but I am very familiar with their SQ. In there times they were great but in my opinion they are no longer comparable with today's speakers in even the 2 to 3K price range. A couple of years ago I listened to a pair of 105/X? for hours and no longer found them acceptable regardless of whether we powered them with an AVR or a separate amp system.
