105/3s
I auditioned all kef ref's and the 107/2' & 104/2's sounded like the same speaker(in that showroom). the 105/3's immediatly stood out from the rest, mainly the higher spl's. 93.5 vs 90 db seems twice as loud. the mid and high freq of the 105/3s cinched it for me. however these are the least forgiving of all kef's so I ended up spending a small fortune system matching. these are hi-end and need serious electronics I currently run them with,
krell kav300il int top end w/kimber 4tc,
B&K 4420r bottom to kube200 gen wires,
rega jupiter cd,
revox tuner,
apeture cables.
mid's are the best i've heard, treble ... starting to show it's age compared to what's out there now. When it came time to refoam woofers in 2004 i brought half a dozen speakers home in the $3-5000.00 range, these 105/3s were still king.
