keeping your hot receiver cool

Please forgive me, this post probably does not belong in this area. But in anticipation of buying a new hot operating Onkyo receiver, I decided to replace my old component stand, because it is enclosed all around, so I bought the Studiotech Ultra U-60. It is vented all around, and I have a 14inch space for the receiver, and still have six shalves in all. The people are great there and I had a slight scratch on the front door and they replaced it right away. I know it is not cheap, but when you figure how much one has invested in componets it is worth it. I am thankful I discovered this product had it not been for Audioholics, I would be missing out on alot of good stuff to spend my money on!!loloThanks Guys!!! Oh and I bought a Cool Pack as well!

Sounds like you are on the right track. Which Onkyo are you going with?

I am thinking about the 875 Onkyo, but The Integra 7.8 is catching my eye and I can get it locally. It is 10watts less but I feel it runs cooler, and what I hear about Integra is all good! When I said 14inches ment to say thats the height. One must get is the cannister wheels, because you can keep the unit close to the wall, and roll it out when you need to get behind. I am mostly into audio CDs. Thanks for your reply! Bob

Keep in mind that the DTR-7.8 does not have the Reon HQV scaler, the TX-SR875 does. The DTR-7.8 does offer the advantage of the Networking ability and a better track record.
