Keeping it kid proof

OK. All the parts arrived (except the center speaker, but that's OK). Now I'm going to be busy setting everything up.

One question: Is there a way to make it so that when the kids play games or watch TV, they don't have to touch or even go anywhere near my receiver, and yet I can still run the X-Box and cable through the receiver so I can use them?

Thanks.

Hey I have the Monster universal remote which allows me to just press TV and everything that is related to the TV will be turned on and everything else will be off. Now when it comes to games if I have friends or family they simply press games and it turns on my TV, receiver, speakers, sub and inputs it to the proper input on the tv and the right sound setting (GAME MODE) on my receiver. This way no one has to touch any settings on my equipment and I dont have to worry about family members changing any settings that my installer tweaked for me:)

It seems that my solution to my other problem about how to hook it up to the TV has solved this problem also. Everything is run through the TV and that way the kids don't have to touch the receiver.

If you have little kids that like to play with buttons and switches, my solution was to raise the equipment high enough so they can't reach it. I bought a TV entertainment center and used the upper shelves (about 4-5 feet high).

I'm hoping they're both old enough not to play with my stuff if I tell them to, although my 7-year-old about a year or so ago destroyed my turntable tonearm.

The only real fear I have is that they knock my speakers off of their stands.
