Keep The Klipsch or Go with SVS?

Hey guys.
Currently updating my system. Started with new speakers (PSB X2T) and a new receiver .(Yamaha 3050) I currently own a Klipsch RSW 15. I was wondering if the SVS PB-2000 would be an upgrade to the Klipsch? Started looking due to my wife asking why all my stuff was black but the subwoofer was brown. Read the SVS review on Audioholics and they seem to love it. Any thoughts? Thanks

What is your room size and total budget? And yes the PB would be an improvement below 50hz for sure.

Well, room is 21x24x10. Budget is $800-$1000. Really have nothing to go on being the Klipsch is the only subwoofer I have owned.

Either the pb or the hsu is an upgrade, with shipping the hsu is at the top of the budget, but IMHO would be better with your room

Thanks for the reply. I will check into the hsu and make a decision.

So Looking at HSU they have the ULS-15 MK2, VTF-15 MK2, and VTF-3 MK HP all within the price range. Any thoughts on the differences? Is one typically considered best of the three?

the vtf 15 will meet your needs based on room size vs their performance

If your listening room is not really big, I would consider a pair of the SVS SB12-NSD while they are on sale!
http://www.amazon.com/SVS-SB12-NSD-400-watt-Controlled-Subwoofer/dp/B009F8Y7SO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448842609&sr=8-1&keywords=svs+sb12-nsd

They are pretty compact compared to the ported subs and most people find the WAF of two smaller subs is better than one (and especially two) large ones.

For overall sound quality, I generally consider having a second sub more important than having the output to shake my guts for HT. (but the SB12-NSD isn't a weak sub either.

Ok. About to pull the plug. Between the SVS and HSU is one more musical than the other❓

I would go with the Hsu subs, they will have a lot more dynamic range, and hence less distortion and compression.

Also, I think the phrase you are looking for is "pull the trigger". "Pulling the plug" would mean you are about to shut something down.

Ha! Yes, as soon as I posted I thought wrong phrase. That's what happens when you are hanging with Mr. Hornito.

Good call! I think you would have been happy with either, but the Hsu represents better value, IMHO.

Thanks for the HSU suggestion. This thing is killer. Only negative is I had to carry it into the house alone.
