I just got this from Amazon.com today, having been anxiously awaiting it for a couple weeks
. Well, I must say it was well worth the wait.

I've only listened to the disc once so far, but already I'm hooked, although I'm not sure how to catagorize it. It's acoustic, but not really folky; some if pretty bluesey, but I wouldn't really call it a blues album. It's basically King, playing her acoustic guitar; in her hands, it's lead, rhythm & percussion all at once. She has an oddly appealing way of drumming on the top of her guitar....strange but cool.

The girl's got chops, that's for sure. She really hammers away, alternating between dreamyness and ferocity, often within the same song.

Soundwise, the disc has an intimacy and immediacy about it that just sucks you in, with nice detail and a lot of air. Guitar sounds decent on just about any system, but really well recorded acoustic guitar on a nice system...well that's really special.

And so is this CD. I definately suggest you check it out.
