JVC RX-201S won't play DTS for me!

I have a D3non 2910 and for now, a JVC RX-201S digital amp receiver, both capable of DTS playback. I can select the DTS sound on a superbit and get the correct lights on the 2910, but can't get the JVC to spit it out. The DTS just flashes in the display meaning it is not hooking up. The manual is confusing enough, but perhaps I am missing something simple in the chain.

Any ideas

Few questions. How do you have the two hooked up? You are using either an optical or digital coax cable right? Have you enabled the DTS ability on the Denon DVD player? Have you tried swapping the interconnects from the DVD player and the receiver?

How do you enable DTS in the Denon? By selecting the 44.1 setting?

You need to go into your audio setup menu, go to your digital setup, and make sure that it is set to normal not PCM. Also how are you connecting the DVD player to the receiver? Really important to know that. If you aren't using a digital connection then there is your problem. Also please refer to the trouble shooting section of your manual, that darn thing is 78 pages long! Very informative but a pain in the butt to read ;) . Very nice DVD player, I'm sure you'll get the bugs worked out soon.

DTS is usually turned on with the newer Denon players (practically the only players I've ever seen that on), so you may have something else setup incorrectly.

You also have to make sure the input you are using on the receiver is assigned to the correct digital input, assuming you are using a digital connection.

DTS is supposed to be defaulted on on his player for sure Garcia, but I figured I'd start there. I only glanced at the manual but it seems like you might have to assign the digital output like you mentioned. From what I read it looked like the default output is the optical connection, so if he's going digital coax he may have to switch some settings around.
