JVC QL-50, record collection, record rack

I'm a relative newbie here, but have been a pretty serious listener for about 30 years. I ran a record store for the better part of a decade from the late 70's to late 80's. At one point my collection was 3200 lps. After I left the store, I slowly liquidated it down to about 650 or so. My criteria for what I kept was "what will I still be listening to when I'm 80". So all the collectable rock and roll etc was sold off. What I have left is a pretty eclectic collection of music.....not much electric stuff at all (barring some jazz fusion)
but a lot of audiophile pressings (Mobile Fidelity, Nautilus, Sheffield, Crystal Clear, M&K, Japanese imports,ECM, Windham Hill), acoustic, jazz, folk, blues, reggae and on and on.

I didn't think I would ever be able to live without this stuff, and there are a few titles that will be pulled for my "rockin' chair" years, but I've come to a point where I think I can let 90% of it go. I've started a pdf file of all the titles and artists with codes for anything that would be other than mint. They way it went for all those years at the store was this: I would open anything I wanted.....if I liked it, I'd record it on an SA-90, if I really liked it I'd buy a copy and stick it on the shelf. About 80% of the time, it didn't get opened at first, so there are some of these (probably about 20%) that are still sealed) Most of them are in plastic outer bags, many of the audiophile pressings have Discwasher VRP sleeves and have been "Lasted".
They were played almost exclusively on the JVC QL-50 with a ruby Dynavector (until I damaged that cartridge). I take care of my stuff EXTREMELY well, and this collection was one of the most prized possesions I had.

So, with all that said, I'm looking for someone who would want the whole shebang.....Table, records and custom built rack (that would probably hold 800 comfortably (about 650 in the picture). Obviously, I'm not going to give it away......I don't know if the rules here require posting an asking price, but if so, it's going to take at least 1400.00 to get me to consider parting ways with it. The table and the rack are worth a bit on their own, and some of the Mob Fid and Nautilus records add up pretty quick. I just don't have the time to part them all out.

It would certainly be better if someone could do a pickup....shipping the stuff would be very costly of course. I know this is all probably a longshot, but I thought I'd give it a try. I'm doing this to partially fund a custom built acoustic guitar (#3).

I'm working on the file and currently I'm up to the "I's" if anyone is interested in getting the feel for what I have. I'll probably have it done by the weekend.

The table is a JVC QL-50 with a Grace 707 arm, Petersen interconnects and a Grado (about 100.00...can't remember which) cartridge. It was used maybe 3-4 hours a week for a few years back in the day, and probably less than 10 hours in the last 10-15 years. Very nice shape.

I'm extremely active on the Acoustic Guitar Forum (same user ID as here) and am 6strings-14clubs on Ebay with over 350 all positives, so rest assured you will be getting quality stuff. If anyone has any comments or suggestions as to other venues to list this collection, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story.....Mods, if I've broken any rules, please feel free to give me 40 lashes with a wet noodle - LOL

you can email me at fitstop@charter.net for inquiries.

Here are a few pics....

Oh, I forgot, I also have a rarely used Infinity Micro II sub/sat system for sale......120.00 and shipping....

I'm going to bring this one back from the dead. I spent a bunch of time today on the list of my vinyl....I'm up to the R's now if anyone is interested in taking a look at what I have so far. I had been waffling on whether or not I wanted to go through with this, so I let the thread slide away and removed the pics from my Imageshack account. Here are some new ones.
At this point, this is an "all or nothing" sale. If I get to a point where I'll start parting it out, I'll post accordingly.

Any questions or for the list so far fitstop@charter.net

I'm going to bump this back up.....I'd let it go because I wasn't sure I wanted to follow through, but I may be making an offer to buy the home I've been leasing, so every little bit counts!!!

Send me your pdf. file and I'll have a look. I'll be honest, I'm not interested in the TT or the rack...only the vinyl.

Will do Tom....I have your email saved. I'd have to have the vinyl sold first, but I'll let you know.

Hey Tom.....went to send you a note and found that I had accidentally deleted your addy. I only had a message in the "sent" folder and couldn't discern your address from it.

Shoot me a note at fitstop@charter.net when you get a chance.

I'm considering separating out just the audiophile records from this and selling them (about 40 titles) along with (or separate from) the table. I've got a custom guitar coming in on Friday (4/25) and if I end up keeping it, I may move ahead with this.

forgot to mention, I also have large collections of ECM and Windham Hill records I'd consider selling in packages if someone is interested in that kind of thing.

I have a file of just the audiophile records mentioned above if someone would like to see it....

Thanks
