not sure if this was ever covered but ever since i became in "love" with speakers and everything involved with sound, me and my girlfriend has noticed a weird thing i tend to do a lot now, i take a look at a movie and the only thing i look for is does it have some type of DTS, or special mixing... every single movie i look at i do this, i dont even bother to read what the movie is about. I have movies that i have bought that i have never heard of and the only reason i bought it was because it has DTS, or DTS EX 6.1.... anyone else catch themselves doing this?

DTS must be sending out subliminal messages in your area. They've got you brainwashed!!

I look for DTS soundtracks, but I always know what the movie is before I buy it. It's not that I find DTS is overwhelmingly superior or anything. I just happen to like their product, and I'm glad Dolby has competition pushing them to be better. I can't say I've ever heard a poor DTS soundtrack so that's why I look for DTS DVDs.

I definately look for two things right off the bat....dts and widescreen...now,i dont let the absence of either one of those two options prevent me from buying a title that i really want...but...it is something im conscious of..

I do it all the time now too. The widescreen is the thing that kills me, I can't buy a movie in full screen, thats why I bought a 16:9 screen in the first place, and d*mn you walmart for only having top gun 6.1 dts only in full screen.....

Not just widescreen, gentlemen. Anamorphic widescreen. There is nothing worse in my opinion than a non-anamorphic widescreen DVD.
