Yeah, we have a blizzard warning for tomorrow - 30cm. (Or a foot, in old money....)

I am seeing the occasional snow flurry here and there but it is a very ominous looking sky and it just looks like its going to let loose any minute, we are expecting 10 inches of the fine white stuff and then like a cue from the big director in the sky wham winds will be in the high 20's to 30 mph, can you say drifting, should be an interesting next couple of days as the temps will only reach the low 20's allowing this to stick around for awhile.

What is the snow you speak of? Perhaps you need to come down to Texas. In all seriousness snow is beautiful. I wish we had more of it around here somedays.

It's snowing now, fine dry flakes, and plenty of wind. The temperature is dropping fast. It was about 35° this morning when I drove to work, and 4 hours later its 25°.

The snow started about 9 am in NW of DC. I expected to work for about half a day, but by 10 am it was already coming down hard and sticking to the road. So I took home some stuff and hit the road. The local schools had closed for the day, and the Federal govt. was on "liberal leave/work from home" so traffic was very light.

As soon as I got home, I raised the thermostat and lit the fireplace. The forecast for tonight says 4°. Yesterday's high was 52°!

It started out nice and light around 8:00 this morning but since 1:00 the snow has been getting progressively more angry by the minute. But, on the positive side, I've got a load of Sam Adams Octoberfest stashed in the dungeon and a fresh 1.5 litre bottle of Tanqueray and tonic.

4 tears in Michigan and 9 in New England were quite enough for me. I can deal with DC s occaisional snow but not the clowns around here who panic over it. And I AM coming to Texas on Thursday (San Antonio). Sadly the forecast isn't so nice.

Its snowing here supposed to get 8 inches or so and its 9 degrees now supposed to go down to negative -6 by tomorrow with a windchill of neg -21... I got back home early today and turned the t-stat up to 73 so "everyone" is comfortable, my auto coal fired furnace will heat the inside to 73 until it gets around -10 then it will start to lose temperature inside almost one to one, but it takes a long time since we are super insulated, so we would have to be -20 for 3 or 4 days before it would start to really fall behind and have to run propane with it... never happened as of yet, but this may be the year to test it..

I moved here for the skiing 29 years ago and between the reasonably mild winters, and the awesome summer weather, I never looked back.

Fortunately, the worst of the snow missed us this time, but, it's 5 degrees with a wind chill of minus 7. 20 miles west of us they got hammered with 12-14 inches of lake effect.

We could use some of that snow here. None in the forecast for the next week. We need more snow in Utah.
