Alright, this may be a totally useless post, but I just need to verify this info with someone who knows what they are talking about. I was looking at this website... http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/speaker/index.htm
I am looking at the 12 AWG Belden 5000UE white jacket speaker wire... Since the wire is already twined and jacketed when purchased, lets say I purchase 25ft of it...that is 25ft that I can terminate and just have ran speaker to receiver right? If that dont make much sense and seems to easy to answer, I only ask becaue I was shopping around radio shack and saw a spool of 50ft speaker wire and it was just a spool of one wire. My guess is, if I wanted to run the same 25ft with that I would have to cut the 50ft line in half and twin it together and terminate each end so really with the 50ft of speaker wire from radio shack I would only need 25ft of what is being sold on this blue jeans site. Also, I dont plan on running this wire any further then 10ft probably. Would there even be a difference between 12 and 14 AWG with that short of distance or would I be cool with getting 14...If I would actually notice a difference, I'll just pay the extra bit and get 12. Thanks for helping another newbie =P

Let me understand your question. Your speakers are about 10ft and you need to wire them.
14ga will be fine. You don't need the 4 wire cable. The Radio Shack speaker cable should have two wires in the jacket. If so, buy that and use 20 ft from it.
Or, Home Depot will cut the length you need:D

Yeah, I did not plan on buying 4 way wire. I dont think the wire I saw at my radioshack had the two wires in the jacket split. I think it was just a 12 AWG single wire...which was making me think if I bought a 50ft spool and needed lets say 10ft, I would actually need 20ft out of the spool and terminate each 10ft wire and just twine it together... I'll get 14AWG for my distance, and shop around a bit more to see if I can find some speaker wire with two way wire in a jacket and terminate it myself probably. As far as whats on that site though...a 50ft spool would be a full 50ft period, right?

I think you may not have looked at the wire carefully. Any wire that is labeled 'speaker wire' will have at least two conductors - one for the positive and one for the negative. A 50' roll would be 50' of 2 conductor wire. If you only need 10' you'd have 40' left over.

Wire that is 4 conductor would be used to wire two pair of speakers or bi-wire a single pair. It could also be twisted together to effectively reduce the gauge of the wire. I wouldn't worry about that at all - especially at a distance of 10 feet. For 10 feet, there will be zero difference in sound between 16, 14, and 12 gauge. Just buy normal 2 conductor 16 gauge wire and be done with it. Only pay extra if the wire in question is very pretty and you value aesthetics - sound quality will not be affected.
