wow recievers have really come a long long way. my 876 is a upgrade from my 777.

anyhow ill be setting it up tonight and tomorrow are there any tips or tricks? i plan on hooking up my dish vip 622 to it via hdmi then from reciever to tv with component (its an older set, although i am currently experimenting with the dvi port) and ill leave the dish reciever hooked to the tv also with component so i dont have to have the reciever on every time i want to watch tv.

i am excited... lol like a little kid again... btw the 867 is a tank....

That won't work. The receiver will not convert down from HDMI to Component. You'd have to go component to the receiver and HDMI to the TV.

However, you may be able to use an HDMI - DVI/D adapter between the receiver and TV.

I had so many questions about setting mine up and I knew I was in way over my head. This post answered a lot of my questions and improved the sound of my 876. Use a tripod with the mic setup, it made a major improvement for me. I actually used an old speaker stand I had laying around. Sorry about injecting a foreign forum post guys. Just trying to share some info I found useful.
