Just Purchased Velodyne DD-12

I just purchased a used DD12 sub for $1100 to compliment my Adam A7's in my 13x12x8 room. I've heard some good things about it, and it seemed like a bargain price (we'll see when it arrives!), but just wanted to see if you guys have anything to add. Some precautions, some setup advice, etc. I have never used a sub, but my adams are rolling of -3dB at 80Hz, so I felt I needed a sub for those freq. I know the specs say the Adam's -3dB point is 48Hz but that's not what's happening. Maybe I have too many bass traps in my room??? Anyway, I guess that turned into a couple different questions, but that's my ADD for ya!

Never had a sub?

Is this a 2 channel system, or HT? Which ever it is get ready to listen, or watch everything you've listened to, or watched before--Again. :D

thats a steal for 1100 bucks. the built in EQ itself is worth 600 bucks on its own. if you can get a second one, it'd be fantastic to setup as stereo subs :)

crossover at 120hz and let the subs rock! (if you have stereo subs)

if its a single, cross at 80hz and watch your speakers come alive because of the extra power going to them (since they don't have to play full range anymore)

Nice bro... Thats a steal for that sub... accurate intense sub, and better yet, a built in SMS-1... Great Job...

Personally I wouldn't be crossing it over at 120hz....

Let us know how you end up getting it setup... and how it sounds
