Well over christmas I was jibbidy jahhing with my dad about TVs and Receivers, etc.. and I told him I was in the process of piecing together a 5.1 system for my girl friend. I ordered the onkyo receiver that was on sale at frys for $99 (TXSR304S). Well he said he had an old Yamaha laying around that he didn't think he had ever used.
Fast foward to today. He comes up to have lunch with me and brings me the receiver, and it's a R-V1103. 5.1, 100 watts per channel. Best part, no charge!
So we will be hooking this up to the Yamaha speaker package we ordered off Ebay (NS-FP4600) and have 4 brand new bose double stack cubes we will use with the onkyo. My dad also told me he has 2 little bookshelves we can have to use as centers. Basically we have 2 complete surround systems have shelled out only $325. Thought I would share my acquisition and see if anyone ahs an experience with the R-V1103.
