A guy local to me was selling one for a price I could not pass up.

It is the newest version, Aluminum woofer and Sledge amp.

To be honest, I was not expecting much from a 10" sub, my first thought upon turning it loose, "Dont judge a book by its cover".

I set it on my 15" Epik Knight, which is about twice as big as the SVS. Looking at it that way, I really wasn't expecting much, I actually sort of laughed at it.

My smile soon disappeared after running a THX bass test. Wow this little thing puts out! I had to check to make sure the Epik was off! For a 10" driver, I am beyond impressed. It shook my living room (open to dining room also) with ease, incredible!

Have not done much music yet, but Ive only heard good things about performance in this field.

One I get this into my 12x12 bedroom, things are going to get a little ridicules!

I will be replacing my Outlaw LFM-1 Compact (pounds hard, gets low, but not nearly the same ooof as the SVS).

All in all, I give this bad boy a 9/10 for price and performance!

Question: Can I use my Pre-outs on a Cambridge Azur integrated since this sub does not have high level inputs? Pic of the back of the Azur http://www.studio-22.com/cambridge/images/540A-v2-rear.jpg

How come the SVS, when hooked up to my Cambridge via the pre-outs on the integrated, is only about half as loud as the Outlaw? I know the PB-10 is way more potent than the LFM, since I proved that downstairs.

What could be the issue?

did you try turning up the gain on the PB10NSD?

it could just be a difference in input signal sensitivity.

I figured half way was enough, never really needed to go past that..especially since the PB has twice the power.

the gain knob really has nothing to do with the max or minimum power of a sub.

it's just there to add or attenuate the signal.

e.g. having the gain knob at the minimum level doesn't mean you won't bottom it out since it's relative to the input signal, master volume, room size, distance to sub, etc.

I bet that PB10nsd is an awesome sub. I almost bought one but ended up with the SB12 nsd and paired it with my PB12plus. The SB12nsd digs real deep for a sealed 12 but was told by SVS that the PB10 sounds similar but digs deeper.

I think I might have found your problem.
So confused, this PB should blow my ears out in this space lol!

VERY impressed with the output for its size. I had a hard time telling the difference at one point between this and my 15" lol.

Different amps, different gain structures. For example I know on the HSU subs I've own in the past the gain was very sensitive and you barely had to move them up from the lowest setting.

I suggesting that room modes may be the issue. A 12x12" square room may be the worst room shape for bass. The new sub could be exciting room modes that the lesser sub wasn't...could be creating nulls that make it sound like less output. Just an idea.
