I've wanted to replace my PB-1000 for some time now. Was going to go dual RSL Speedwoofer 10s subs but then saw the PB-1000 Pro come out and was just about set on that but then said why not go bigger, one step up. Make a real change so I ordered in the SVS Outlet the PB-2000 Pro. I'm very excited, this is a big step up for me. Just what am I about to experience with this baby? Is the SVS Sub App in general easy to use and understand?

Congrats! My buddy has the same one. I have dual PB 4000's and love them as well. The app is not bad depending on the room and your understanding of the metrics and tools. My buddy's room was an easy setup while mine took many days to get dialed in My room has vaulted ceilings with an open floor plan and is 3 times the size of his. I haven't used it in about a year since the original tuning but did enjoy playing with it to get everything tweaked. Just plan on investing some time if you want to get it really dialed in.

Fuckinay man! That's awesome! I think this is a much better plan. If you're gonna upgrade, make it a good one. This is a good one and I'll bet you hear some significant gains. Very cool. So are you trading in the 1000 to help pay for the 2000 Pro?

I'm gonna try and blend the two together if I can for a while. If I can't I'll just drop the PB 1000 out of the equation. Eventually of course I want a serving PB 2000 Pro.

I think you may have done very well... I think the svs mid level subs are a decent step up from the rsl's...

I think so as well. RSL has some new subs coming out too but I couldn't wait. A 12 inch and then I heard some other Speedwoofer models, whatever that means. If I had a date the new 12 inch was coming out I might have waited but no release date.
I was looking at a Rythmik sub too that was 799.99 but with the outlet model and 5% returning customer it was a no brainer. SVS also takes Amazon payment and that is super convenient.
HSU with shipping kinda made that out as well. SVS is very, very smart with the outlet drake, and discount for returning customers. It's all very smart and makes them very easy to choose.
I wanted a PSA sub but guess what, not even in the zip code of my budget. So here I am waiting on the PB 2000 Pro.

When you get close to getting a second one see if they'll take your 1000 as a trade in. They were going to let me trade a bookshelf in for a center channel way outside the 1 year deal. I ended up not doing it but they were really cool about it and were willing to let me.

Yeah, I'm not sure how mixing the 2 different subs will work out for you. In general the smaller one will hold the bigger one back, but with some careful eq'ing you might be able to cobble it together. To further complicate is you'll have 1 sub with some dsp capabilities and the other one none at all. Maybe you could try the 1000 nearfield or something. Just don't try to force it. The 2000 might just do a lot better by itself than in tandem with the 1000 so keep that in mind.

@Pogre did I miss that het was gonna mix them?

FWIW, I would not mix them, for a number of reasons.

It's like speakers generally, go for the best you can up front, saves "upgrading" later. Sometimes you have to wade thru it, tho :)

Ok guys, thanks for the advice. I'm new to having dual subs do I still take your advice. I will remove it when I get the new one.
What are the big reasons not to do so? I mean it will just overall good back the PB2000 Pro? I don't want to do that.
I will ask SVS their advice as well. See what they say. Thanks again guys!

If you do ask, try and get Ed. I don’t always agree with the sales people.

Basically yes, one thing is the 1k will hold back the 2k. But more than that, is the phase responses are different so the phase relationship will be chaotic. In short, you can end up with a bunch of cancellations, and therefore defeating the purpose. It’s not impossible to integrate different subs, but it takes a lot of time, placement experiments, and usually a minidsp.

Even with the same subs it can get a bit complicated. I had to do some work with my dual PB-4000's to get them to play nice otherwise I kept facing 2 issues. 1st was frequency canceling. It was really present when listening to music. the bass turned almost 1 note. the other issue was severe dead spots. depending on where I was the bass was missing. It took some time to get the subs in the right spots and a bit of tweaking in the app to get them dialed in. That was SOOOO worth the effort  Note that each room varies so you may have a completely different experience.

I guess I'll try and see but I'm thinking at the moment just take it out of the equation. Why complicate things more than they need to be. I want to see just what this baby can do.

Ok, just talked to SVS and they said that should be just fine because the ports are similarly tuned. They did say if it was sealed and ported that would not work. I'm pretty encouraged actually, excited to see what they can do together now.
