I'm trying to resurect a pair of old speakers and am lost as far as what I should put in them. I have 2 cabinets, 26hx17wx9d (approx). Originally they each had 1-15", 2-5", 2-2.25", and 1 rectangle 2.75"x3.75" opening. I already have 2 brand new 15" 8ohm drivers, and I need to figure out what else to put in these things to get the best sound. There will not be an external sub connected to these. I like it loud. I want to bi-amp these speakers. The originals had the 2.25"'s and the rectangle opening housing tweeters. Thoughts on putting a port in the rectangle shaped opening? And recommendations for the other 4 speakers. (in case I did not specify, each cabinet had 6 speakers originally). Also, Bi-amping in mind, I was thinking of using these crossovers;

1st order crossover with 6 dB/oct slopes for highpass and lowpass filters = Butterworth B1-

2nd order Linkwitz-Riley filter (12 dB/oct, LR2)

4th order Linkwitz-Riley filter (24 dB/oct, LR4)

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Please don't post the same question in more than one place.

You have 4 posts. 3 of them are from posting this exact same question. I realize the double post in the speakers section was probably an accident but as for this post please either post it here or in the speaker section not both. Thanks!
