Just got my SVS PC Ultra

I received a used PC Ultra made in 04 today. I got it off of Audiogon and it came looking like it was new. All I can say is Holy S&^t!!!! This Sub is unbelievable. The Wife is worried about the House LOL I have a big house and it's been vibrating all day. Glad UPS came first thing. I think this will put an end to the Racoons in the Soffits. If you're looking for good test material for subs go to http://www.realmofexcursion.com/downloads.htm. They have great tones to tune a sub with and some tracks that have ridiculous bass. I look forward to getting everything tuned up, going to do that now... Just thought I'd say, My first experience with SVS is a Mighty Good One.

My gloss black PB-Ultra arrived on Tuesday; I had to ask the delivery guy to help me carry it to my door from the drive entrance (there was too much snow to wheel it) which he did, thankfully, but as soon as we put it down so I could get my door open he was off like a rocket. I guess he didn't realize how much of a pain it was going to be to carry and wanted to be out of there. So I had to lug this thing into my house (up 2 steps) myself and almost busted a gut in the process. Damn but this thing is heavy and awkward. I'm not sure why but it seemed a hell of a lot heavier than my plus/2 was.


So it's been sitting in its box unopened since then;



I plan on making a weekend of playing with it.

That's why I went with the Cylinder PC Ultra. I've always owned Box Subs. It sure is MUCH easier moving my cylinder around! I can get it to another room in no time if I choose, it's already spent time in 2 different rooms in the first 4 days. Good Luck! Lets get reeeeadddddddddy to Ruuuuuuuuuuuumble!!!!!

I used a nice beach towel under my Plus/2's and just slide them around...
It makes it incredibly easy... I picked up my sub from the shipping dock, the guy helped me put it in my Tahoe, where a 12 pack of beer seemed to fall into his lap. Upon getting home, got it into the house, out of the box and slid it around with ease all by myself...

I've been told the woofer alone weighs nearly 60lbs. The whole sub is 155 lbs. T'aint light.

Having a $20 bill in hand keeps the driver's attention. Luckily I had 2 guys on my delivery and they carried it into my family room. Then I had to get to work. Unstrap the pallet and remove...pop the top and take out the foam to expose the sub...tilt upright...slide out of box...remove box...tilt back down on carpet or towell (if on hard floor)...slide to 1st position. It's heavy, but manageable.

Yeah, I know but work has been a ***** lately and I've been really tired when I've arrived home from work. Given that I've waited so long and that I didn't want to detract from the initial experience I thought it was better to be paitent (it's a virtue apparently ) and wait for the weekend... which has arrived! Yay.

So after I've been out shopping I'll do the opening ceremony and post some pics with SMS-1 graphs (v2.1.3) too if you're lucky.
