Its on the way, and should be at my house today! I love new stereo equipment ;) I only have two floor standing speakers right now so I have to be creative. I'm going to try to put them at the rear side position and use my TV's speakers as the front channel. Hopefully I can get a sourround effect until I'm able to buy new speakers. :D

The speaker setup you talked about is a terrible idea. TV speakers are virtually worthless. On top of that, I doubt your receiver will allow you to hook up rear channel speakers and not have front speakers hooked up. Stick with 2-channel audio until you can afford rears and a center. I only do 2-channel and have no inclination to upgrade. It can be great.

Hope you enjoy the receiver!

What TV do you have? Most TV speakers are worthless but not all. If you have a RPTV that has say 6" drivers it might work for the time being as a CENTER channel, not for fronts. If you have a small TV with chicklet speakers forget it.

Your receiver will do a 3 channel setup with left, center, right and it will output the rear information through the fronts. If you don't have decent speakers in your TV then look for an inexpensive center channel speaker to get you by for now until you can get some timbre matched 3 front speakers. Check Onecall's bargain page or look for JBL and Infinity blowouts from HK on eBay.

How do I select the 3 channel suround setting? I only see a 2/5/7 channel option.

In the setup menu you are only going to activate the three front speakers. On the surround speakers (It's A on my 3805) select "none". When multichannel audio is being played it will force the surround information out of your L/R fronts. Some receivers have specific settings for 3 channel but I don't think Denon's have that.

BTW, Not sure where you live but in todays Fry's ad they have a center channel speaker for $39.99. It's bound to be better than your TV speakers. :)

Thanks for the help. I just hooked up the fronts and placed them in the side surround positioning. I'm listening to he Matrix right now and this receiver is awsome. Even with my tv speakers and 2 fronts I still get pretty good surround sound.
