Hello Everyone!
This is my first post as I've just made my first purchase of decent audio equipment. I just picked up a Denon 2808ci receiver and Tannoy HT100 speaker system. For movies and audio including streaming from my CPU I'm running everything from my PS3 to the receiver via HDMI.
I'm a complete newbie to all of this and want to be respectful of this forum, so if my question can be answered by another thread please let me know without killing me about not fully reading my manual. I have only done a once-through of the manual and I'm not quite up on the terminology and settings.
I've played a few audio cd's and I have found the bass to be really weak and I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on how to give the sound some guts.
Many thanks!

The problem is the smallish sub. That system comes with an 8" woofer and 100 watts of power. You aren't going to get a ton of bass extension with that sub. Also, if you are trying to fill a big room, you'll run out of power.

I'd make upgrading the sub a priority. There are some decent choices available for a few benjamins from HSU, SVS, AV123 and others.
