Jensen JP1200, pls help ASAP!:)

hello everyone,

I have a question to you all. I am about to buy a pair of Jensen JP 1200 speakers with a sherwood receiver, and would like to know if it is worth $200. I can probably bargain down to 150 if im lucky, but i would also like to know about the quality of the speakers. I mostly listen to electronic music. Are there better speakers for the same price? I am undecisive, mainly because of the low price i see on the net. Amazon sells them for around $50 each. Thats 100 a pair. Right now, any kind of speaker system would be better than what im using right now, since i only have a 2.1 Creative system with tiny-tiny speakers, however i want to get the best speakers for the price. I am using my laptop for listening to music, so they would be hooked up to it through the sherwood amp.

Speaker preferences are very subjective. So what you like, others may not...and vice versa. With a $200 budget, you might be better off looking in the used classifieds for a good local sale. I know JBL makes some good speakers in that range...but I don't believe I have ever heard of those Jensens....sorry.

wow just now saw how long ago this post is. Anyway I have a set of these speakers and they rock. Their part of a Sherwood receiver pushin 300 watts that's hooked up to a pair of these and a pair of "15" ken wood tower speakers. They can handle all its got with clarity and nice bass and have no trouble at all.
