I just got these at a pawn shop for $50 today. They each have two 5" midbass and two 1" tweeters. The cabinets are large in relation to the drivers, it looks to big but I am sure JBL has perfectly logical reasoning for doing this. The tweeters are some of the strangest I have seen, can't really describe it. Unfortunetly I don't have my camera and can't take pictures very soon.

The blue book says the system comes with 3 identical speakers, though I only have two. The blue book also says the speakers are to be used as front left/right/center. They manufactured these in 1996 and they are US made.

I have no idea where these came from, or what these really are. If anyone can offer any insight I would be very happy.:D

That is funny, I was looking at that a few minutes ago.:D I downloaded the manual and everything. I would still like to find someone who has had some experiance with these make a comment. These suckers retailed for (for 3 of them) $1200 in stores.

JBL used to make some fine speakers. I had a great sounding pair before my Cerwins in 1984. They had titanium tweeters as well. That was when my love for titanium tweets began. Beware, the tweeters in mine looked like those, and fried easy.

They don't have a very big magnet structure, I figured they wouldn't be great for high spl's.
