I just purchased a set(4) of JBL CVSAT50 speakers for fronts and rears of a 5.1 system along with a JBL voice center. Any experiances with any of these speakers...they are for a entry level HT set up in a 11X17 room with 12 ft ceilings with a limited budget!!

well, as you have already purchased them, the only true test is "do YOU like how they sound ?" Any other answer is just an opinion and not really applicable to your particular situation.

Enjoy your new speakers !

Good point!! Thanks...I do look forward to enjoying them, I havn't put them up yet. I did some research online and found only one review on these speakers...and none from the general public....I was wondering what someone with more experiance would think about these, but like you said...I've already bought them...Got 4 sattelites and the center for $270...so its not like i'm in the hole a ton...

I would go ahead and hook them up and listen for yourself. The main thing is that you are happy with them. It doesn't matter what other people think, they are your speakers. Go enjoy them...:D

Those are pretty good speakers, for the money. The Voice center is really part of the recently discontined Venue series. You may fine the Voice timbre matches well to the CVSAT50. If its not to your liking, then just get the matching center to the CVSAT50.

Hi sjsamuel,

I had those speakers. :) In case you want stands for them you can get 'em here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/JBL-Cinema-Vision-CVTS50-Table-Top-Shelf-Speaker-Stands_W0QQitemZ170230187065QQihZ007QQcategoryZ14997QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

That site usually has the center to match the satellites. They don't have it right now but I'm sure they'll have 'em again. Might take awhile though. IIRC they spec out at 60Hz @ -6dB so I had mine crossed over at 80Hz. I used them for H/T for a couple of years because I like the space saving wall mount business. Finally I just caved in and went with the stuff in my sig.. I ended up trading space for better sound.

Bottom line is that the Cinema Vision line is IMO a very workable solution for surround sound. My rec'r was a little wacky and would go to full volume periodically and the speakers didn't blow up. I do know that they will go plenty loud. :)

Thanks!

Great to finally hear a real live user with these speakers...Got them for cheap enough from that same ebay store...I could not turn them down. I think for HT they are going to be great...
I too like them for the space savign features and the flush wall mount...so thanks for you input...
Right now I have a JBL Voice center...cause I couldn't find the matching center...I think it should do fine we'll see...!!

I love that store. They usually have the sub to match. I understand that the Dayton subs get reccomended a lot at low price points. I would take a real close look at the specs for the Infinity subs I could get from there and compare. BTW you need two. One now and one later. Just kidding. Sort of. :)

Yeah I had initially considered the JBL Sub 12..it would look nice as the grill would match the rest of speakers... and they are available at Amazon through J&R for 199, shipped...but I keep hearing I would be doing a lot better to spend about 50 more and get something like the BIC H-100 or Dayton...
I did read some reviews that the Dayton had a cheaper build...so more prone to go with the H-100
